WHAT IS A GRANDPARENT?
(Taken from papers written by a class of 8-year-olds)

Grandparents are a lady and a man who have no little children of their own..
They like other people's.

A grandfather is a man, & a grandmother is a lady!

Grandparents don't have to do anything except be there when we come to see them..

They are so old they shouldn't play hard or run. It is good if they drive us to the shops and give us money.

When they take us for walks, they slow down past things like pretty leaves and caterpillars.

They show us and talk to us about the colours of the flowers and also why we shouldn't step on 'cracks.'

They don't say, 'Hurry up.'

Usually grandmothers are fat but not too fat to tie your shoes.

They wear glasses and funny underwear.

They can take their teeth and gums out.

Grandparents don't have to be smart.

They have to answer questions like 'Why isn't God married?' and 'How come dogs chase cats?'

When they read to us, they don't skip. They don't mind if we ask for the same story over again.

Everybody should try to have a grandmother, especially if you don't have television because they are the only grownups who like to spend time with us.

They know we should have snack time before bed time, and they say prayers with us and kiss us even when we've acted bad.

A 6-YEAR-OLD WAS ASKED WHERE HIS GRANDMA
LIVED. ''OH,'' HE SAID, ''SHE LIVES AT THE AIRPORT, AND WHEN WE WANT HER, WE JUST GO GET HER. THEN WHEN WE'RE DONE HAVING
HER VISIT, WE TAKE HER BACK TO THE AIRPORT.''
GRANDPA IS THE SMARTEST MAN ON EARTH! HE TEACHES ME GOOD THINGS, BUT I DON'T GET TO SEE HIM ENOUGH TO GET AS SMART AS
HIM!

It's funny when they bend over; you hear gas leaks, and they blame their dog.

Stay Joel Study

Here is why. It is very clear in Joel 3:3 that the Nations who divide Israel will be judged. Friends we must get on our knees and pray yes but we also need to know what we are praying for, we must understand God's heart on the subject of Israel. The United States of America must not turn our backs on this tiny country!

Join me in prayer and study! Watch for scripture and commentary here as we embark on this important journey.

Our Spiritual Maturity

In I Corinthians 14 Paul tells us to put off our childish ways and thoughts. When we are older we are to think and act in maturity, this is spiritual maturity. We have graduated from milk or bible basics, we are eating meat, the bread of life, studying, fasting, and meditating of the Word, God's mind in writing.
In I Corinthians 13 "the chapter of love" that immature ideas and attitutes are the hidden enemy of love. The love that the Lord Jesus Christ shows us is to fill us and permeate every part of our being so that love spills over, throughout and onto all of those around us that we come in contact with. Mr. Parks a resident that we came to know in an assisted living told me, "If folks can't see Jesus when they look at us, he ain't there." He is deceased now but I will never forget these wise words.
Replace wrong attitudes with biblical truths. Don't just sit in pew and hear the Pastor or Sunday School teacher, listen take notes and review in your quiet time with the Lord. He has something to say to you, listen. Read the Bible daily? Great, don't just read the words on the pages of your bible study them, read aloud a new meaning could be revealed to you at any moment. Don't just pray, sit quiet and listen for his voice in your spirit. We can't enjoy our Lord by only few fleeting moments and on the go constantly. Stop, Read Pray Listen
